Before and after

You need one primary photo strong enough to carry your profile and supporting photos that don't weaken it.

How we pick which photos are best

Scores come from Photofeeler, a site where real people blind-rate photos on Attractiveness, Trustworthiness and Intelligence (each out of 10). You upload a photo, choose the audience (we pick women in your target age range) and 40 strangers vote on it without knowing anything about you. The score is an average of those 40 votes. We use it the same way A/B testing works in tech — change one variable, measure, repeat.

Mirror selfie at a barber shop. Backpack still on.

Smart 4.4
Trustworthy 4.6
Attractive 3.7

What we changed

  • Haircut and beard shaping before we started shooting
  • Borrowed a suit that actually fits through the shoulders
  • Rooftop at golden hour instead of a barber shop mirror
  • Tried about 40 poses before this one clicked
  • 85mm lens so the background falls away clean
  • Picked this shot because it scored highest, not because it looked coolest to us

Selfie at Iguazú Falls. Cool trip but it's not doing anything for his profile.

Smart 5.6
Trustworthy 6.2
Attractive 6.0
Score increase +2.7 Attractive

What we changed

  • Golden-hour light instead of midday sun blasting his face
  • Real smile, not a selfie face
  • Doesn't read like a generic tourist photo
  • Camera at eye level, not held at arm's length
  • White linen shirt — relaxed but not sloppy
  • Didn't overthink it. Sometimes the simple shot wins.

Waterfall selfie, way too close to the camera. Wet hair, squinting.

Smart 4.6
Trustworthy 5.8
Attractive 5.6

What we changed

  • Activity shot — gives someone a reason to start a conversation
  • Warm bar lighting instead of waterfall spray
  • He's doing something instead of just standing there
  • Shot from far enough back that the face isn't distorted
  • Background adds atmosphere without pulling focus
  • Not his highest-scoring photo but adds range to the set

Holding a giant rib at a restaurant. Fun photo, wrong context.

Smart 6.0
Trustworthy 8.2
Attractive 5.5
Score increase +2.7 Attractive

What we changed

  • Mate cup instead of a giant bone — still shows he's into the culture
  • Brick wall and warm light instead of a tin roof in the rain
  • Camera on a tripod vs. a friend's phone across the table
  • Close enough to see his face, far enough not to distort it
  • He's smiling because he's actually having a good time
  • Not every photo needs a suit. This rounds out the set.

What we changed

  • Holiday window displays make a free, colorful backdrop
  • Parka with fur trim adds texture the camera loves
  • No glasses — small change, big difference in scores
  • Face sharp, background soft. 85mm doing its job.
  • He wasn't even trying to smile. That's the expression we wanted.

What we changed

  • Face fills the frame instead of competing with a giant rock
  • Shallow depth of field blurs the street into soft color
  • Natural daylight instead of overcast grey
  • Simple crewneck — nothing distracting, nothing to date the photo
  • Looking just past the camera. Feels natural.
  • You don't need a suit or a prop to score well

  • Natural light from a window just out of frame
  • Slight head tilt, slight smile — tried dozens before this one landed
  • Not the flashiest shot but it rounds out the set

Why this is different

Most dating photographers fail

Photographers tend to optimize for pretty pictures. Dating apps reward something else: photos strangers rate highly in a split second.

Process

Why we need 3 days

A strong primary photo isn't an accident. We change one variable at a time — smile, angle, lighting, wardrobe — until the photo works.

1

Free consultation

We review your current photos, goals and dating market. If your photos aren't the problem, I'll tell you.

2

Grooming guidance

Before the shoot, I'll tell you exactly what to fix: haircut, beard trim and any other grooming that shows up in photos.

3

Day 1: Wardrobe and first shoot

I meet you at 7am at your place and go through your closet. Unless your wardrobe is already set, we head to an outlet together and fill the gaps — that usually takes till early afternoon. Then we shoot in your new clothes through sunset and into the evening.

4

Days 2–3: Full day shooting

Back at 7am both days. We shoot across different locations, testing expressions and angles at each one. Between sessions I upload top candidates to Photofeeler so we know what's working and can adjust. Sunset is the priority — that light does the most work.

5

Profile creation

I narrow down ~10,000 shots to the best 50 and test top candidates on Photofeeler with real women. A female curator picks your final six. After three days I know you, so we write your bios and prompts together. The curator reviews your finished profiles before you go live.

6

2-week follow-up

Once you're live, we track how your profile performs and adjust. Photo order, prompts, opener strategy — we tune it until you're getting matches.

Nikita on a boat with a DSLR and phone

Taken in Mexico. Ironically, this is still my best photo of me holding a camera.

About

My job is software engineering. My hobby is photography.

My name is Nikita Sokolsky, my main job is software engineering. I've been photographing people since 2017. My friends kept asking me to take their dating photos - and eventually I've decided to start offering the service to the public.

I like helping people dress better, improve their styling, take better photos and, hopefully, meet the love of their life.

I publish my full methodology on Substack for free. This website is for people who want me to run the whole thing for them.

After the shoot, I test your strongest photo with 40 blind votes from real women in your target age range. If it scores 9.0 or higher, you keep the full package. If it does not, I refund the shoot fee. No questions asked.

Fine print

  • Applies to the final recommended primary photo only.
  • Tested with 40 votes from women in your target age range.
  • Below 9.0 Attractive: full shoot fee refund.

Pricing

I only offer one package.

I do not sell cut-down versions because half-baked shoots produce half-baked results.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

I'm not a professional model. How will I know how to pose?

I direct every shot - where you stand, where you look, how you smile, what you do with your hands. It only takes an hour to get you comfortable in front of the camera.

Can we shoot my hobbies or sports?

Yes, that's the default plan. Cooking, guitar, working on a motorcycle — anything where you're doing something real. We will not be renting Porsche's for the shoot.

Do I own the photos?

Yes. They are yours and you can use them anywhere. I'll also send you the RAW files if you want them.

Are my photos private?

Yes. I will never use your photos without permission.

What if it rains?

Then we move the photoshoot indoors. I always have a backup plan for inclement weather. For an example, see my list of indoor shooting spots in Austin.

Do you only photograph men?

No, feel free to reach out if you're a woman who wants better photos.
